Overview
Safe Hand is a free, offline-first mobile application that allows users to generate barcodes containing personal or item-related information. When scanned, these barcodes display the details entered at the time of creation. The app does not require account registration, login, or an internet connection to function.
Safe Hand is built with a privacy-first approach. All data you enter stays on your device only. We do not collect, transmit, or store your information on any external server — ever.
Information we collect
Safe Hand does not collect any personal information from users. The only data that exists within the app is what you choose to enter yourself when creating a barcode entry. This may include:
- Name, contact number, address, or personal identifiers you voluntarily provide
- Descriptions, serial numbers, or details about items, vehicles, pets, or documents
- Any custom information entered under the "Other" category
This information is entered solely by you, stored only on your device, and encoded into the generated barcode for your personal use.
We do not collect any of the following:
How your data is stored
All data entered in Safe Hand is stored locally on your device using the device's internal storage. No data is uploaded to the cloud, synced to external servers, or backed up by the app itself.
- Data persists only as long as the app is installed on your device
- Uninstalling the app will permanently delete all stored entries
- No backups are created by Safe Hand on any remote system
Barcode & QR code usage
Safe Hand generates barcodes that encode the information you provide. These barcodes are purely a local output — a printable or shareable representation of your data. The app supports the following entry categories:
Important notice regarding printed barcodes
When you print and physically place a barcode generated by Safe Hand, anyone with a barcode scanner or smartphone will be able to read the encoded information. Please be mindful of what details you include and where you place printed barcodes.
- Do not include sensitive data (passwords, financial data, ID numbers) in barcodes placed in public locations
- The app is not responsible for how third parties use information obtained by scanning a barcode you have distributed
Data sharing
Safe Hand does not share any data with third parties. We have no servers, no analytics integrations, no advertising networks, and no data broker relationships.

- We do not share your data with advertisers
- We do not share your data with government entities unless required by applicable law
- We do not use third-party SDKs that collect user data
The only way information from Safe Hand can be shared is if you choose to print a barcode and allow others to scan it. This is entirely within your control.
Offline functionality
Safe Hand is designed to work fully offline. An internet connection is not required for any core feature of the app, including creating entries, generating barcodes, and printing. The app does not make any network requests during normal operation.
Permissions we request
Safe Hand may request the following device permissions depending on the features you use:
No permissions are used to collect data about you or your device. You may deny optional permissions; however, some features may not function without them.
Children's privacy
Safe Hand is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since the app does not collect any user data at all, there is no risk of inadvertent data collection from minors. Your rights
Because all data is stored locally on your device and we collect no personal information, the following rights are inherently guaranteed by Safe Hand's design:
- Right to access — all data is visible within the app at all times
- Right to delete — delete individual entries within the app, or uninstall to remove all data
- Right to portability — your data is accessible only on your device
- Right not to be tracked — we never collect, sell, or share your data
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the app. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of Safe Hand after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
